For one horrific moment, I believed that I wouldn’t hear the end of the story! The disappointment was almost palpable but I quickly learned to live with it. The timeline this story is set into meshes nicely with Home Truths. I really do hope that Simon Guerrier gets to write a third story related to Sara Kingdom but I would understand if he doesn’t. The ending is a moment that could stay as finished, unresolved, and magnificent!
The story told ends up being a very typical Dr. Who storyline but the story surrounding it, from the storytellers themselves, is where the true tension is. This version of Sara Kingdom is a magical, amazing character with a whole history of stories unplumbed. However, it’s the environment surrounding the stories, the reality in which they are told, which makes the difference. Well worth a listen!
