Big Finish audio drama 2.2, November 2007
Jamie’s memory returns for a storyline with the 2nd Doctor. They’re in the Golden Zone where peaceful thoughts reign and on an adventure with a most obvious of bad guys. That seemed to be their MO in the early days. The baddie was pretty obvious and much like Columbo, they were just trying to prove he was the baddie throughout the story. The story is very much a Patrick Troughton’s Doctor’s adventure with aliens, the locals, and the running around after the bad guys going on. Fun stuff!
The most interesting character in this story is Mindy, the singer. She seems innocuous enough but is she really? Never in Doctor Who is anyone quite as they seem. They are more complex or have a side that they don’t reveal until much later on in the story. And in her case, it’s in the final climactic moments after Jamie is done relating his story. The end of the tale makes sense but the afterward is really the best part of the entire audio drama!
