Big Finish 8th Doctor New Adventure, March 2009
I can’t say I was all that enamored of this first adventure back for Lucie and the Doctor. The Doctor has lived 600 years without Lucie and doesn’t remember who she is? I’m sure it’s 600 years on the squid planet but still… The story is a bit disjointed. I wasn’t confused but I was excited by Part I of the story! Then Part II was a major disappointment. Everything’s wrapped up due to a superweapon and the antagonistic relationship between the Doctor and Lucie is barely an undercurrent? A bit weak overall. Hard to have a lot to say about this one as it went from fantastic, with promise, to terrible ending engineered by some unseen party. I sure hope that when that unseen party returns to the storyline, it’s a doozy! I did like the time bullet but other than that, this story really disappointed me.
