Jenna’s Story (6.2)

        Big Finish Blake’s 7 Series

This story unfolds from Jenna’s point of view, with her telling her story from the time she left the Liberator until she is speaking to Correl, the "leader" in the story. Or warlord, whatever you want to call him. Ultimately, Jenna’s spent a relatively uneventful year and a half since she left the Liberator getting from one world to the next. Ultimately she gathers 7 people — 7 seems like the ideal number to her — and looks for Blake, who she seems to either love or hold up on a pedestal, I can’t tell which. She is still looking out for herself but sees the downfall of the Federation as the best way to do so.

Oddly, her self serving attitude doesn’t seem to be at the forefront here as she’s trying to make changes and just fight against the Federation no matter what situation she’s in. I felt like I was supposed to be sad at the end and instead I felt conflicted. Why bother was the question I asked myself. What did she really accomplish? it seems like nothing. But perhaps that’s the ultimate genius of this story — she accomplishes one thing but not happily (at gunpoint, really) yet she does it out of respect/love for Blake. Just seems a bit out of character for her but perhaps that was where she was going ultimately anyway! Difficult to say...
