The Case of the Missing Gasogene (10.1)

Big Finish Jago and Litefoot Series

This is a story of extremes that doesn’t quite work for me. But then WHY is explained later so it’s not really as bad as all that. We are introduced to the biographer of J&L right at the beginning – Carruthers Summerton. What an odd little guy I thought from the start. We find out just how odd later on but in this story, he’s just following our heroes individually. And Jago looks like the proverbial lackluster detective while Litefoot is following the clues as they investigate the murder of Sir Hartley Harecourt’s manservant.

But as the story unfolds, there is a bizarre connection between two scientists and Sir Hartley and it’s not a good one. And Sir Hartley takes advantage of the trusting nature of Jago to bring him into the experiment. But Sir Hartley does recant and assist with bringing everything back to normal. It’s just the weakest of the three stories but we find out why later…
