The Monstrous Menagerie (#7.1)

Big Finish Jago and Litefoot Series

After season 6, I was not anticipating much. The boys are on the run and considered murderers and are wanted for treason. I didn’t like season 6, I’ll admit, but they really take the results and run with it here! This starts with a classic time-bender involving time issues. Jago and Litefoot are assisted by Professor Dark, indirectly (and I thought they completely forgot about their adventures with the Doctor?), and they meet Arthur Conan Doyle – after he’s killed of Holmes and prior to writing any future stories. And there is a lady in distress, Miss Laura Lyons, and the villain of the piece is just a wacky nutjob named, you guessed it, Baskerville. And things progress from there, with Jago impersonating Holmes and Litefoot as Dr. Watson.

There are dinosaurs and time machines and glowing dogs, naturally. And everything ends satisfactorily, too. The duo is back in action and better than ever with this first story in season 7! I just wanted to keep on listening after this story ended, so I did. And so far so good. This is a fantastic story and one way to keep them out of harm’s way for the story yet still have adventures. Other than remembering Professor Black as the Doctor, I bought this one hook, line, and sinker!
