Home Truths (#3.05)

  Big Finish, Companion Chronicles

The character of Sara Kingdom was a study in a strong, steady woman who has her convictions challenged and lives to learn change.  Or not – we just don’t know!  This is almost an alternate history but it’s a fascinating story.  It’s set on Ely, a planet in-between lawless times where the law is more important than the exceptions.  Robert, the latest in a long-line of magistrates, has come to hear her story, to pass judgment on her, decide her fate.

So Sara must tell her story, must convince Robert that she deserves to live.  And the story she tells is of her own past on Ely, a time long past that is a window into the convictions and beliefs of Sara.  The story kept my interest and brought me right into the politics and people of the moment – of both moments!  I really liked it.
