A Small Semblance of Home (8.9)

Big Finish - Short Trips Season 8

This story comes from the perspective of Barbara Wright and her loss of time while traveling in the TARDIS with Susan, Ian, and the first Doctor. The story begins with Barbara, who is recording in a journal how much time was spent outside of the TARDIS so she can figure out what day it actually is in current time for the travelers from Earth. Sunday. It feels like a Sunday. They land on a planet with the perfect conditions for whatever plant the Doctor is searching for. What that plant is the travelers don’t know. I began to suspect but I wasn’t sure.

So Ian takes a branch from the bushy tree and the natives don’t appreciate that. This is the one green spot on the entire planet and they are protecting it. The TARDIS team makes their usual mess of things but then again, not really. It really is a quiet, fun story. Really enjoyed it and the Barbara focus is key as well. Great stuff!
