The High Price of Parking (#227)

    Big Finish Main Range

The Doctor, Ace, and Mel land on a planet that is one big parking lot that is called Parking. So creative! They’re supposed to be heading to the pristine planet next door called Dashrah, where the Doctor can figure out why a species disappeared. However, they’re quickly waylaid by Cowley, the assistant head parking warden. So something is going on from the start and they know it. The threesome gets split up eventually and each gets to do what they’re good at to stop Seraphim from destroying all flesh beings.

This is a fantastic romp! I really enjoyed it. It starts out a bit slow but things go quickly from calm to explosive, with Mel hacking every computer in sight. They make a great team, even when apart, this crew. I didn’t know what to expect and honestly didn’t have high hopes, based on the title. But I was absolutely delighted and amazed. But John Dorney has a way with words and can turn even the most boring concept into something worth listening to. This is a fun and fabulous tale, well worth a listen.
